The Story of Drew’s Dream

Drew Wynne is fondly remembered for his quick wit, booming voice and incredible smile. When he loved something, he gave it his full heart and focus. Drew’s commitment to the founding and growth of his business, Riptide Coffee, embodied his life’s passion.

In 2014 Drew and his business partner Jimmy quit their jobs to chase their dream to build a cold brew coffee business. After much trial, error and patience, they created a product they were proud of. They began marketing and selling cold brew coffee at the Charleston farmers market and opening accounts at local tech companies and cafes.

Like many entrepreneurs, their startup dream was largely self-funded and initial capital proved challenging for Drew and Jimmy. Through fortunate engagement with a local area businessman who believed in their product and ultimately, their plan, Drew and Jimmy received an angel investment. The funds they received catalyzed their dream and a sustainable business, Riptide Coffee, became reality.

In honor of our son, brother and friend Drew Wynne, The Drew Wynne Foundation will continue to pay it forward. We can think of no greater legacy for Drew than the ability to give others a similar opportunity toward the pursuit of their potential and happiness.
